4 TM miles at the Y. I went way too long without running solid distances, and now I need to build back up. After 8 on Saturday night, these 4 were way harder than they should've been. Finished with .25 at 6:30 pace, so at least there was that.

My left achilles is more sore as I've been running more. Last night I started doing the stair dips that Jake prescribed in early spring. I should've been doing them ever since it started hurting. I'm going to start doing more calf stretches after my workouts as I think that tight calves are the main factor with both my achilles and plantar fasciitis. I gave up stretching a while ago and I guess my experiment worked for a couple years, but now I'm a bit older and the niggles are abounding.

Noon: Boot Camp. I wasn't going to do it, but I love the feeling of sore muscles that I get every time I go. My legs weren't feeling it before going, so thankfully there wasn't much leg work today. Lots of arms and shoulders with some cardio as well. Great session. Our leader is a former Arena League QB for our local team for 5-6 years, who now works at our Y. He was a lot of fun to watch as QB, and by the exercises he put us through I understand where he got his edge.

I am a pretty big fan of icing.. I do it almost every day. Might be worth a shot to try out for a week or so?

It's amazing how quickly we loose running fitness. :-(

About the Boot Camp....you're sick!

Christie, that's a great point. In the beginning of my running days I was really good about icing, but what I iced hurt a lot and reminded me frequently that I was in pain. These injuries aren't bad enough to remind me and my memory is horrible. I need to ice, though, so thanks for the reminder!

IJR, I think you would be a Boot Camp fiend if you attended. It's a competitive atmosphere and is fun to see how far my body can go.

Don't wait for it to hurt. PREVENTION Russ! :)
