Beautiful morning again with a blanket of clouds over the valley, made for a gorgeous extended sunrise. Did my 5 miles, this time a bit of up and bit of over on a dirt road. A mom and her twin fawns didn't seem to know what to do with me - they kept running ahead of me next to the fence, but for some reason wouldn't cross over. I turned around just as they decided to skedaddle across the field instead of risk crossing the road. A wise choice.

AP: 9:11. Felt like a nice run. I like doing 5 miles every time. I think 5 or 6 will be my new standard for a short run once the marathon training is over. That will help me stay in the high 30s to low 40s as my weekly average.

I was treated to a peek into a fawn play group this morning :) 2 moms with 2 babies. I crossed the street so as not to interrupt the fun.

6 miles is my favorite daily distance. When is the marathon?

I live out in the sticks so I love all the wildlife I get to see - especially the babies. Lots of fun.

I'm doing St. George - are you also? I can't wait - looking for an awesome race.

As for the ice bucket, I use a timer and stare at it for the first 2 minutes. After about 2 minutes of just forcing myself through the pain (it hurt like nothing else), my foot goes numb & then 15 minutes is doable. Each time after that it doesn't hurt as much. The rewards are immediate though. Good luck!
