I've been exhausted all week and my wife helped me realize that I was still tired from Saturday's run. I didn't run Tuesday or Wednesday. I pushed it too hard going uphill on Saturday and this week I've felt like I feel after a race - tired of running. That's odd for me, so that's how I realized what had happened. I took it very easy today. Felt a twinge in my right calf during the run. Stopped & stretched & didn't feel it again but I feel it now a couple hours after. Odd. I didn't do any extra work after my run. I also haven't done any pushups this week nor any planks. I think I'll do a 5K on Monday as I don't think we're going camping due to the crap weather. I don't have a 5K time so I really look forward to doing one.

AP: 9:29. Splits 9:49, 9:32, 9:28, 8:57.

Russ, see if you can talk your wife into rubbing out your calf with a rolling pin, pointy elbow or strong thumbs. You should get a foam roller for your birthday or father's day. They are great for aches that crop up.

Thanks for the thought Kam - it didn't even register to roll it out. I do have a foam roller but I don't use it very often - never have been sure when to roll, what to roll, how often, how long to roll, etc. Tips?

Use it when something hurts. Make it hurt when you roll it. Put as much weight onto the roller as you can stand. It's really good for ITBands and sore calfs and glutes.
