Running uphill on snowy sidewalks is a bit like running on a sandy beach, but it was nice being outside. It was 15 degrees out with windchills of 0 so I layered up well, and probably could have done without a layer. Ran my normal 4 mile out and back and oddly I didn't see anyone out running today. Wimps.

AP 8:49, avg HR 156, max 171. Much slower than I thought I was going, so the snow must've affected me. Or I'm just slow (think it's the latter).

Good Job! I'm impressed with your dedication. I thought I was tough when I still go out and run when it drops to around freezing out here in Seattle. But, much colder, I don't know that I would. And by the way, you are also NOT slow! I know because as my name indicates, I'm VERY slow, so chin up.

Thanks Turtle! I've only run in the cold a handful of times this winter but I'm enjoying it. With layers, anything is possible. By the way, checked out your blog and you'll do great. I completed my first marathon last summer after running for only 8 months, but only serious running during my 18 week training plan. I ended up having some minor injuries and my IT band flared up during the race so I wasn't able to "run" a marathon, but I did complete it. I felt similar to you - I made a goal, and I completed it. Now I'm hooked on running.
