My Saturday is full, so I got up early and did 10 miles this morning, in honor of Sherry Arnold, the runner in Montana who was abducted and killed last January while jogging. Tomorrow is the 2nd Annual Run for Sherry. You can print your bib here: http://www.races2remember.com/PrintBib.php?bib=sherry.

I'm surprised at how good I felt during this run. I got to bed an hour + earlier than normal so that must have helped, but today's route was up my "Veyo" hill and it's brutal. And I did it in the dark with a headlamp. I tell you what, running a long and steady uphill with only a headlamp is a mental challenge. I've run this hill quite a bit so I know the parts where if I can just get to a certain point then I know I can make it all the way. This morning I couldn't see those markers, so I just had to keep plugging along. It's a climb from 2.25 miles all the way to 4.25 miles, and in the middle is a and steep section. I love it as a challenge and as a hill that helps me in a race, and I know it helps in major ways.

Anyhow, enjoyed the run thoroughly and hope I don't crash during my day job. :)

Never feel bad about crashing during your day job on a Friday if you had a good run. I like hills in the dark. You lose your orientation visual cues, and can forget how hard you are working. Next time try it with the headlamp off, as long as the footing isn't sketchy...

It looks like your fire is started, Russ. I'm excited to see how bighorn goes for you.
