| | My new normal of 4 TM miles at the Y this morning. I tend to always go progressive on the TM or I'll go nuts, so for the last .5 mile I bumped it up to a 6:22 pace just to see if I could, and that went fairly well so with .25 to go I bumped it up to Ryan Hall's Boston pace (12.7/4:46) just to see how long I could hang like that. Have you seen the videos from NYC marathon of people doing that on TMs in the street? Pretty funny. I could've gone a bit longer, but the legs were feeling weak so I made it .12 miles before I dropped it to a 6.5 to finish. That is crazy fast. Kudos to you speed demons out there.
My feet were feeling great with doing no running the last while, but I noticed this morning that when I first got out of bed both my R and L foot were a bit sore. Sweet. Double PF? That would be awesome. Guess I need to ice. Good news is that my left achilles hasn't been sore (touch wood).

| | 4 TM miles. I'm in the 4 mile rut. It's better than 3, and much better than 0, but I need more than that. If I run 5 times a week, that's only 20 miles. I need to start upping my miles. I hope to get out this Saturday and do 8 miles or so, and soon get back to 10 miles and beyond. It's been way too long. I need a race to train for.
Good progressive run this morning. 1/2 mile at 10:00, 1.5 at 8:57, 1 at 8:27, and 1 at 7:52. Legs are still feeling sore but it's a gentle soreness, a good reminder that I'm losing it.

| | Was going to run at Noon today, but the allure of Boot Camp spoke to me and I answered. It was fun to be back, as it's been quite a while. Good sweat fest.
No need to take my son tomorrow morning early, so I'll get in a 6 miler from home, something I haven't done in many moons. Or stars.

| | Got up a little later this morning than planned, but still decided to go for 6 miles and glad I did. Temps were a bit chilly (33F), but no wind, so it was good. No watch, so no idea of pace, but it was pretty decent. Happy to be back on my regular road. The guy in the old tan Dodge Ram pickup gave me a honk as he passed by as it's been a few months since he's seen me on the road. It was kind of like a "Norm!" from Cheers moment. Aw shucks.

| | 4 progressive TM miles at the Y this morning. A bit of a late start, but it's a Friday so I decided to go 4 miles instead of 3. Made it to work just after 8:30 so no harm, no foul. Quads are sore from Wednesday's Boot Camp, and I like it. Legs and achilles felt good entire run, no worries. With 1 to go I bumped the TM to 7:13 pace, then with .5 I moved to a 6:22 pace, and the last .25 I finished at a 5:57. I wish I could get to where that pace was sustainable for a 5K, let alone a marathon, but I'm not sure that's in my deck of cards (the Joker I am at one with). Sure feels good though.

| | Double digits. That's right. Read it and weep. 10 miles going the opposite way on my 10 mile loop. I've still got it. Going up the hills was pretty solid. Beautiful weather. When I left at 11 am it was 42 and sunny so I ran in shorts, short sleeve tech shirt, and thin cotton gloves. North breeze but not bad. This run felt really good and makes me happy. AP 8:33 |
