I planned on 15, but I'm doing 15 next week for the Sherry Arnold Virtual Run (http://www.shutupandrun.net/2012/01/virtual-run-for-sherry-arnold-february.html). Hopefully the FRB community can support this. I'll put something on the discussion board - others who read this please share it on your blogs.

My legs are not so fresh anymore. After hitting Boot Camp on Wednesday & Friday my legs are beat. I knew it would wear me out but wanted to see how I'd do. I did just fine! Tired, but made it through. I took the hard route, up my Veyo-type hill. I stopped once before hitting the hill, stopped at the top of the hill, and stopped another mile after that to eat. I hit 6.55 miles in 1:01:36 and was hoping I'd be faster back home. Of course I was - the up was almost 1000 feet. Cruised nicely back home, except for one killer hill with 2.5 to go. It's my least favorite hill near me because it comes after a nice long downhill, then I go down again only to regain a bunch of elevation before I can go back down again. My breathing was very shallow - my throat was cold (it was in the low 20s) as I had unzipped my 3/4 zip shirt partway for heat. Guess I pushed it a bit too much up there, but in the cold I can handle it. That was my undoing in St. George was pushing it in the heat and my body said "Um...you haven't trained us for heat. Slow down dude." Anyhow, the cold is my friend.

Made it home and I was a sweaty sucker! Amazing how much sweat could accumulate in the low 20s. It was a gorgeous sunny morning so the sun on my black clothes probably kicked the internal temps up a bit. Anyhow, good overall run.

Way to get some great miles in this morning in rather frigid temps.

Thanks for the podcasts links you left on my blog yesterday, I am exciting to listen to them.

I don't know how you can do so well in the cold, or am I just a wimp? (don't answer that) Nice job Russ!

Thanks Bec and Peg! And Peg, it's mostly mental, partly the clothes. I found some clearance Reebok pants that don't let wind in, but aren't noisy either. On top I bought a nice fleece at Target that stops most of the wind and keeps me warm also. Add gloves and hat and I was fine - I really was soaked in sweat afterwards.
