2 miles while staying in Heber for the week. Pretty warm by the time I got going, at least 80, but for a short run not bad. Once I warmed up kept a good pace up the small hills, and marathon pace on the downhills was easy. I'm hoping everything goes well on Wednesday. High temp will be 95, low temp 72 in town. Hoping to be done by 8:45, and hopefully won't be too hot by then.

Having a fun time with my family this week at a house we're renting. Fun times, mellow times, and I'll have lots of support from my family to give me cold sponges and gatorade a couple times in the last 6 miles.

we should (hopefully) have some cloud cover, and the heat shouldn't be too oppressive before 9 am (at least for a race in july). but yes, sponges are a great idea. especially at the last aid station before mile 25 (it's on 300 east right before you turn onto 700 south) -- use that aid station for all it's worth. cover yourself in water. i usually take 2-3 cups here -- one cup over my head, one on the legs, and one on my singlet. the last mile is slightly uphill (slightly, but you will detect it), and it's directly into the sun.

but other than that -- it's cake. :)

it's great you will have your family there for support -- makes all the difference in the world.

Hope your humidity isn't as high as it is here in Texas when the temps go up that high.

Thanks allie! Great tips for the last 1.2, and I know I'll need it. Unfortunately Meb declined my invitation. I promptly unfriended him.

IJR, the humidity won't be near what it is in Texas thank goodness!
