3.1 miles from the Y. Nice cloudy day out, 58 degrees with some wind. Chilly on the hands without the sun but felt great. Did some PT exercises afterwards plus some curls.

5 miles today, warmed up with about .4 before taking off. Tried the Galloway method using a 4:1 ratio of running to walking. Interesting approach.

AP 8:22; splits 8:24, 8:09, 8:39, 8:09, 8:28.  AHR: 152; MHR 174.

I was shooting for an 8:30 AP and I guess I hit that OK, although with the walking slowing me down my running bits were in the 7:30s quite often, and my Max HR was up there for one stretch. There were a couple guys running about a 7:45 pace who passed me during my first walk break then I was motivated to catch them so ran faster than I normally would have. I'll have to read more of Galloway's stuff as I want to do things the way he recommends, and I know he's got some specific ideas regarding speed work, mid week runs, and long runs. Beautiful day outside. Ran in shorts & a t-shirt with gloves as my hands stay cold until 1/2 way through my run on a day like this in the high 40s. By the way, I love my Garmin and knowing my true pace all the time.

Ended with 1:00 bicycles, 1:30 plank, and 3X15 pushups. Did 30 pushups this morning waiting for the shower to get hot (my new standard routine - nice way to wake up).

Boot Camp today. I love that class and miss doing it more but I need to focus on running and the class wears me out. Did lots of cardio, some shoulders, some squats, but mainly cardio with stairs and track work. I find that only doing the class once a week energizes me where doing it 3 times a week wears me out.

Had a nice "easy" 6.2 mile run. Was supposed to go easy but I had a meeting to make so I pushed it a bit after getting going. The first 3 miles were into a pretty stiff wind, gusts 29 mph, and my HR for my speed shows it. Slight uphill with gusty headwinds. Love it. The turnaround point meant it was mainly downhill with a tailwind so I picked it up. Hit a 7:34 mile which is my fastest mile in a run. Did I mention I love my Garmin?

AP: 8:28, splits 9:36, 8:59, 8:54, 8:20, 8:05, 7:34, 6:44 (.2). Avg HR 147; Max HR: 167.
30 pushups this morning before my shower.
