4 miles this morning, doing 2 out and backs on the blacktop. After warming up felt pretty good and pushed the pace a bit. 8:01 is my race pace and I seem to know that pace now. I'm excited about the 16th. I hope everyone has great TOU races next weekend which will psych me up for the next day.

I'm glad your foot felt better. How many are you going tomorrow? It's not too early to start checking the 10 day forecast, you know...

I'll do 8 tomorrow, the last 8 of the marathon course and train my legs to what they should be doing even though they'll be ready to fall off. I thought about the 10 day forecast but forgot until you reminded me. Forecast right now is 84/57. Hmph. Our high yesterday was 67. That's much more like it. Bring on the gods of cooler weather to impact the 9/16 forecast between now and then.

What time is the race start? Yeah, a high of 67 is a lot more desirable than 84. That's a stunningly high nighttime low for your latitude in mid september. Pay no attention to that forecast. It's complete guesswork.

Race starts at 7 so not too horribly bad. I should finish by 9:15 so no problems.... That is, if Steve comes by on his 1981 Vespa and gives me a lift for a few miles.
