4 TM miles at the Y this morning. 5.0 for 1/2 mile, 6.0 for 1 1/2, 6.5 for 1, 7.0 for 3/4, 7.5 for 1/4. Felt good, no pain.

Yesterday walking down stairs my left achilles winked at me. Hmph. I thought it was over. Guess I need some more eccentric heel drops.

I'm not sure what "more eccentric heel drops" means. Over the flu?

Jake posted a link back in December about a great exercise for Achilles problems, called "eccentric heel drops". http://russ.fastrunningblog.com/blog-Cue-Handel-s-Hallelujah-Chorus-I-ran-M/12-06-2012.html. Seems to have worked really well for me. I believe. And yes, over the flu. I never got the full blown symptoms of the normal body flu (Dr. says due to having gotten the flu shot) so I got over it very quickly, thankfully.

I'm not sure about the flu shot malarkey, but I'm glad you are feeling better. I studiously avoid receiving a company sponsored mercury booster, er, flu shot every year.

Ah, you're a vaccine skeptic. I'm not shocked by that. :) I fully believe this, as I've had the flu a few times before and it always knocked me out and I always had a nasty fever with upper respiratory crap plus exhausted all the time. With this I had zero symptoms except my legs felt heavy, and I felt exhausted. No sore muscles, no headaches, no fever, no upper respiratory. Very strange. CDC says quite a few people are having "reduced symptoms" after getting a flu shot and I would say that fits with what I experienced. I'm a human-caused global warming skeptic but a flu-shot believer.

I'm a flu shot skeptic, not vaccines. It is my understanding that in order for the flu shot to be efficacious, the CDC has to correctly guess 8-10 months ahead of time which 2 or 3 out of 50 strains of flu will predominate. I don't feel like those odds justify the 100% certainty of being injected with a substance that is toxic to all systems of the body.

Regardless of the reason, I'm glad your case was mild. I hope to continue being the guy with zero flu shots and zero cases of the flu.

I'm just giving you a hard time Kam. Good point about the guessing game. I'm not sure how well the flu shot works for me, but I hate getting knocked out by it. First time was freshman year at USU. Missed a week of classes, and slept for 23 hours one of those days. Next time was on my mission, and again zonked me for days. A few years ago I had it and got introduced to 24. Bliss. This year I watched Seasons 1 & 2 of The Walking Dead. I guess the flu isn't all bad, just some forced time off.

Thanks allie and Bam. It's been below zero wind chills since early Friday morning, but that should move out today and put us into the 30s. Finally, can wear shorts to work.
