| | 5 miles from home on a cold, foggy morning. Weather app said 38, but I think it was colder than that. Wore a running top then my new medium weight cold weather top - has a hood, no zipper, and long sleeves. It was perfect for these temps. I need new thin mitt gloves. These work fine, but would like a mitt to cover my thumbs.

| | 4 miles from home. 15 degrees warmer than yesterday, which throws me off mentally. Wore my warmish tights, a long sleeved shirt, and thin gloves. Could've gone with shorts and a t-shirt and been fine. Was doing lots of thinking about a job interview later this morning, so I ran slower times, but got some good thoughts of what to focus on during this 2nd round.

| | Much welcome rest day. My throat is scratchy, nose runs more than normal when I'm running, but it is colder, so I don't think it's a cold. I actually took a nap today, a rarity. Hoping if I am getting sick, rest will knock it out.

| | 5 miles (I think). GPS was whacked out today, measured me way short. I know I hit 5 miles, maybe more. Felt pretty good. I like cold weather running, and it's starting - it was 31F on this morning's run from the Y. Dressed appropriately as I was slightly chilled until I started sweating, then felt good, and my shirt was fairly wet when done.

| | Left calf had a knot in it from yesterday's activities. I ran, then went pheasant hunting and walked through lots of tall grass. I should've stretched after my run, and after my hunting. I didn't, but was able to work out the knot.

| | 4 chilly miles. Cold temps after a brief snowstorm yesterday evening left ice on houses, roofs, cars, and the road depressions. Road itself didn't seem icy, just the spots that saved the snow which melted to water. Unseasonably early, and supposed to return to normal next week. Legs felt pretty tired from more "hunting" yesterday, but if you don't see any birds and take no shots, it's only hiking with a gun.

| | 10 cold snowy miles in unseasonably cold weather. It rained earlier this morning and I won’t run in the rain anymore - too chilling - but the cold and snow don’t pose a problem as it doesn’t soak through. Did my normal 10 and felt good. Achilles was a bit sore during the run, which was odd. Seems fine hours later.

| | Annual week long elk hunting trip high in the mountains of Montana (8100 feet) so lots of hiking, dragging out 2 cow elk, and glassing the hills. Thursday through Wednesday.

| | 4 slow miles right after doing 45 minutes of Boot Camp. One of the perks of being laid off = as long of a lunch break as I want.

6 afternoon miles from home. Not easy, but not as hard as I thought it might be. Stiff breeze from the West I had to run into about 1/2 mile twice. Fun. AP: 8:39
