Running only 2 miles feels very weird. But at the end of a long training cycle, it feels AWESOME! I'm as ready as can be. I've got my drop bags packed and repacked (and will probably repack one more time just to be sure I didn't forget something crucial). I've got all my summer and winter running clothes ready to go, just in case the weather is wacky at 8000 feet. I think I'm as ready as I can be. I would feel more confident if I had hit all of my prescribed long runs, but I had some good ones in there which make me feel good. I'm nervous about this race, probably more nervous than my first marathon. I think I can do it, I think the last 5 1/2 years of running have prepared me for this but we'll see in a few days how it goes. I'm sure of one thing: it's going to suck really bad the last 6 miles on a hot dusty dirt road. And I'm pretty sure I'll have long stretches of "this sucks" in between. I can't wait!

I'm looking forward to reading about it. Make the report all rainbows and butterflies so I won't get scared.

But yeah - I think you're more ready than most.

I wonder how it's going... Guessing you're still happy right now, but will be cursing you decision to run 50 miles pretty soon. Probably a pretty cool feeling...look forward to the report!

Joe, you were spot on about me cursing my decision to run the 50 miler! It came about mile 25. A decently cool feeling to finish that far, but meh. It is bloody far.
