Running 2 miles doesn't take much time, but that's what the schedule called for. My legs will be properly rested on Saturday.

Thanks Kam for calling me yesterday on the drive home and talking me off the ledge. I've put in the work and now it's time to go use all those training miles and bring home a BQ. Kam is planning on joining me the last 16-18 miles of the course which will be awesome. Please send a prayer or two for cool weather. I'd prefer 50 degrees max for the entire course but it's looking like it will warm up a bit more than that. I just need to finish quickly. Thanks to all of you for your support through this process. It makes it so much easier knowing that other runners have my back.

I remember the first time I ran a mile. It was about 4 years ago. I thought I was going to die! I didn't have a way to measure it until later in the day when I drove it. I thought I had actually run 2-3 miles. It was a sad day!

I'm praying for you to have great weather! You ARE ready for the race, relax and go win the prize!

It always helps me before a big race to look back through my training log at all the work that has been put in. Time to just go run now Russ... and remember your Twin Dragon personalities you are going to be imitating to keep your mind distracted :)

kam is a great pal. you are going to do great. i think we're going to get some nice cloud cover on saturday, so the temps should stay reasonable. i'll be cheering for you as you push for that BQ. go get it!

Preston, thank you for the kind thoughts and prayers!

Christie, I had totally forgotten about twin dragons. I now have a new mantra for the tough miles! Thanks for the training log reminder.

allie, kam is the best. Cloud cover would be fantastic! Here's to hoping we each have good races.

Thanks all. Very much appreciated.

noaa.gov has a 50 degree start, warming to 57 by 10 am. Be ready for those conditions, and we'll keep hoping for cooler.

Kam, those temps with cloud cover sound awesome. I'll hope for cooler, but take what I can get. Thanks for the update. I changed my profile picture so I can remember how crappy I felt finishing the DesNews marathon last July. Hoping to feel just as crappy but running much faster when I finish on Saturday!
