14 miles before the storm rolled in. I felt really good during this run, and it kinds freaks me out. I ran this same route 1 month ago and it was a tough one. I ran 8 miles yesterday with 2 MP miles in there, and got in a few more MP miles today at the end of the run. It was tough, but controlled. No wind when I left, and a steady NE wind on the way back. Headwind for part of the route, more sideways the last couple miles. I was dressed just about right.

That's a nice long run Russ. And there's some good climbing in there too. Stick at it - it'll all start paying off soon enough.

Yeah, it's the climbs I'm impressed with. Good pace at mile 2.

Thanks. I feel like running in the hills where I live is my secret climbing weapon as I don't have any flat ground within 4 miles of my house. As I get closer to DesNews I may need to practice running at MP pace on the flats, but for the June race this stuff helps. I was looking at elevation splits from the 50K and they are crazy up & down numbers. Will be seeking out some of that crazy turf in the next month. Need to travel at least an hour each way to find that, but it will be worth it.
