Cold this morning, 14 degrees. No breeze but it was a facemask-over-the-nose sort of morning. I tested out my new 1/2 zip pullover loft jacket and it was pretty darn nice. A bit too warm in the arms (they were drenched afterwards) but my mid section was comfortable, and it has a butt warmer which was very nice in the end (buh dum dum).

Did 5 miles at whatever effort made sense. After yesterday's workout I drained the tank a bit but not all the way. A good run. Got a nice effort up a hill at the turnaround point.

Nicely done Russ; you're getting in some consistent training.

Bam, I owe it (half) to something you said a while back when I was whining, (half) to my realization a few weeks ago while running outside that I wasn't firing on all cylinders. It clicked in my head that a) I need to be outside running the hills by my house, and b) I can't be mamby-pambying about with 3 and 4 mile runs most days. I need to be in the 5-8 mile range on the week days and 12-15 miles on Saturday. I'm trending that way, but a gradual trend to keep the niggles at bay.
