4 sub-freezing miles this morning, but I was smokin! 13 F degrees when I started, 12 F when I ended, but no wind so it wasn't bad. Legs a bit cold the first 1/2 mile but soon warmed up. Thank you neck gaitor, for keeping me warm. After the first mile I turned on the jets as I got a bit of a late start; I can't hit Boot Camp today so I wanted a harder effort; will be travelling this week so not as many miles, so wanted a harder effort; and I wanted to see what I could do after a couple months of better training. I was pleased with the results as I felt very controlled. I wonder if I can break 3:20 in a fall marathon? I'll aim for that, providing I can get in the miles needed.

Paces: 9:11, 8:03, 7:26, 7:06. AP: 7:56

nice progression run this morning. sub-3:20 is a great goal for the fall -- you got it!

How 'bout a 3:20 desnews, buddy?

You should make it a 3:15 and call it a bq, as well. When you bq, I'll treat at dq.

thanks allie. are you doing deseret news again this year?

Kam, that's a very interesting thought. Going from 3:46 to 3:31 was a big stretch but not too crazy. Going from 3:31 to 3:15 is a huge stretch, although DQ is a pretty big incentive. Full-sized blizzard? Hmmm. Looks like a 3:19:59 is 7:38 pace; you know that 3:14:59 is 7:27. Hmmm. A nice BHAG to shoot for. Thanks, Mr. Motivator.

yes, i'm planning on des news. grrrrrrr.

kam - i like the idea of dq for a bq. i bet you could make that a "thing" in runner's world.

allie, this is your year for a triumphant 24th

russ, maybe it's a bhag, but I know you have it in you. You've got enough of a base. Blizzard + cheesburger, but we'll have to run over to in & out for a double double
